Minister Mavunde Leads Ministry of Minerals to New Mtumba Headquarters in Dodoma

On May 15, 2025, Tanzania’s Minister of Minerals, Hon. Anthony Mavunde, officially led the Ministry’s staff in beginning operations at their newly completed, modern headquarters located in Mtumba, Dodoma.
The relocation signifies a major milestone for the Ministry, as all services will now be provided from a single, centralized location. This move is expected to eliminate the inconvenience previously faced by citizens who had to visit multiple offices to access government services.
Speaking at the Ministry’s premises during the inauguration, Minister Mavunde emphasized that this transition fulfills a directive issued by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy and Minerals, which had recommended the Ministry consolidate its operations at the new office.
The Minister further noted that this milestone fulfills a personal commitment he made to ensure the Ministry relocates as part of ongoing efforts to enhance administrative efficiency and public service reform.

“This is a clear demonstration of how the government is strategically improving access to public services,” said Minister Mavunde. “We want citizens to receive services with ease—without the burden of moving between scattered offices. Now, all core departments of the Ministry are available here in Mtumba. This is a significant step toward strengthening our operational performance.”
In addition to ensuring more efficient service delivery to the public, the Minister highlighted that stakeholders in the mining sector will also benefit from the improved infrastructure.
He explained that the new work environment in Mtumba will enhance the efficiency of licensing, mining oversight, and sector monitoring processes.
Minister Mavunde called upon all Ministry staff to uphold professionalism and accountability in serving the public, emphasizing that the new facility represents a fresh opportunity to demonstrate excellence in delivering services to the nation.
