Government Strengthens Water Services for Msomera Residents

The Tanzanian government has taken strong measures to ensure that water services are improved for citizens who have relocated to Msomera, in Handeni District.

Speaking on behalf of the Minister for Water, Deputy Permanent Secretary Ms. Agness Meena emphasized that significant efforts are underway to extend water infrastructure to all residential areas in Msomera. The government is also constructing livestock troughs to support the community’s livelihood.

Ms. Meena noted that the construction is being implemented in phases. Currently, the project is in its fourth phase, with the Msomera water dam nearing completion. In addition to the dam, various sizes of water storage tanks are being installed to ensure continuous water supply.

Project Manager from RUWASA, Engineer Nobert Temba, confirmed that the infrastructure is designed to provide reliable water services for the next 20 years.

During her inspection visit, Ms. Meena was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Water, RUWASA representatives, and local leaders from the Msomera community.
